South Burnett Saints have held on to their fourth spot on the Darling Downs AFL ladder despite being outclassed by University Cougars at the weekend in Toowoomba.

The visitors were behind at every break, but were overwhelmed by the third placegetters in the last quarter.

Cougars kept the Saints to just one behind while piling on nine goals of their own.

The final score was 24.16 (160) to 5.9 (39).

South Burnett goals were kicked by Jordan Pressnell (2), Carl Stevenson, Ty Snow and Brad Pressnell.

In contrast, the South Burnett women’s side clocked up its second win on the trot against the combined Lockyer / Uni / Highfields side.

Final score was 15.14 (104) to 2.2 (14).

South Burnett goals were kicked by Kayla Smith (5), Greer Shepherd (3), Jade Hose (2), Reanna Fenton, Natalie Fenton, Holly Ludke, Jessica Langton and Jenille Pasfield.
