A 70-year-old Blackbutt woman has been airlifted to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition with head injuries after a traffic incident in Blackbutt on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to Coulson Street about 9:30am after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a truck pulling a trailer.

The D’Aguilar Highway was closed while paramedics attended to the woman.

The woman was transported by road ambulance to Blackbutt Showgrounds where she was transferred to a medevac helicopter.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
