Ty Snow adds to his tally for the South Burnett Saints

The South Burnett Saints notched up an easy win over Lockyer Valley – yet to record a win this season – in their AFL Darling Downs game played at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday.

At the end of the first quarter, the teams were locked at 2.2 (14) apiece but that was the last time that the Demons were truly in the game.

The Saints kicked nine goals in a strong second quarter to draw away to a 37-point lead at half-time.

The final score was 20.17 (137) to 7.7 (49).

Saints’ goals were kicked by Adam Bowater (5), Carl Stevenson (4), Ty Snow (4), Brad Pressnell (2), Kieran Askin (2), Dylan Bowater, Adam Branch and Brad Edwards.

The Saints are still holding down fourth spot on the Darling Downs ladder, ahead of the Goondiwindi Hawks on for and against.

The South Burnett women’s side also enjoyed a win at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday.

They defeated a combined Lockyer Valley / Highfields / University team 7.10 (52) to 1.1 (7).

The visitors scored their sole points in the second quarter.

Saints’ goal scorers were Natalie Fenton (2), Kayla Smith (2), Jade Hose (2) and Greer Shepherd.
