No one was injured when a school bus and a Mitsubishi sedan collided in Kingaroy on Monday morning.
The school bus was empty and was turning right into Kingaroy Street on the way back to its depot when the incident occurred at the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy streets (outside SupaIGA).
The sedan was badly damaged and required towing from the scene.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said police were speaking to witnesses to determine exactly what happened.
Investigations are continuing.

A passenger’s bid to stop a crash when the driver fell asleep at the wheel failed spectacularly in the early hours of Saturday in Kingaroy.
A 27-year-old Gladstone man allegedly fell asleep as he was driving his Nissan Patrol 4WD down Youngman Street about 3:30am.
As the vehicle veered off the road on to grass near Kingaroy Hospital, the 16-year-old male passenger tried to gain control of the vehicle but it hit a culvert and rolled on its side.
Neither occupant was injured but the driver has been issued with a notice to appear in court to face a charge of unlicensed driving.

A blue Hyundai sedan has been seized by police for 90 days after Kingaroy Police investigated a complaint of hooning at the car wash in Rogers Drive, Kingaroy.
A 23-year-old Kingaroy man has been issued with a notice to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 29 to face a charge of “driving in a manner to create noise and smoke”.

Snr Sgt Frank said Kingaroy Police have received a number of complaints recently about young male drivers hooning in Kingaroy streets.
“There is a small group of repeat offenders who think it’s okay to drive around en masse to co-ordinate hooning and street racing,” Snr Sgt Frank sad.
“We have already seized one of the group’s cars for a 90-day period, and we will be relentless about seizing more cars.”
Snr Sgt Frank said cars would be seized even they belonged to someone else, including “mum and dad”.

Kingaroy Police were kept busy on Wednesday morning.
At 8:00am, a 29-year-old Kingaroy wanted for allegedly failing to attend the police station and provide particulars was arrested in Booth Street. He was bailed to appear in Kingaroy Court in August.
At 9:00am, police stopped a vehicle in Kingaroy Street. The 19-year-old Kingaroy male driver allegedly had a BAC of .055.
At 10:00am, police stopped another vehicle in Kingaroy Street. This time, checks allegedly revealed the 39-year-old woman driver was disqualified.

A 31-year-old Ipswich man has been summonsed to appear in court on a public nuisance charge – and a 22-year-old Kingaroy man issued with an on-the-spot fine – after police were called to a fight in the McDonald’s drive-thru at 1:30am on Sunday morning.
