Librarian Glenda Stimpson is inviting Yarraman residents to drop in to inspect the newly renovated library.
The $164,000 makeover of the historic former Post Office by Toowoomba Regional Council has given the building a new lease of life.
The building has been extended, painted inside and out, and new carpets and moveable shelving installed.
A new reading room with free wi-fi access, separated from the rest of the library by glass doors, has been created as a quiet area for use by visitors or students.
Glenda said there were also three free internet terminals for use by the public in the main area of the library.
New lino has also been laid in the children’s library area.
Storytime for children is held on the fourth Thursday of the month.
Disability parking and access has been added at the rear of the building.
“The library is lovely, new and fresh,” Glenda said. “It is an exciting space now.”
Opening hours at Yarraman Library have also changed.
The library is open Tuesdays (10:00am-1:00pm and 2:00pm-5:00pm), Wednesdays (10:00am-1:00pm), Thursdays (10:00am-1:00pm and 2:00pm-5:00pm) and Saturdays (9:00am-noon).
