An 82-year-old woman was was lucky to escape serious injury in a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Harris Road and Redmans Road in Kingaroy on July 10.

The woman, who was driving a Nissan sedan, failed to negotiate the T-intersection, heading straight ahead towards the Pistol Club grounds.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the woman’s car went straight through a fence around the grounds and crashed into a shed.

She was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital for assessment of minor injuries.

Two P Plate drivers have run foul of the law after allegedly recording positive breath tests in Kingaroy at the weekend.

In the first incident, police stopped a vehicle in Mant Street for an RBT.

The 19-year-old Kingaroy man allegedly had a BAC of .023.

At 1:30am on Sunday morning, police stopped a vehicle on River Road. The 20-year-old Toowoomba man driving allegedly recorded .027 BAC.

Both men will appear in court to face charges of drink-driving.

The legal alcohol limit for P Plate drivers is zero.

An 19-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in court after an incident at a hotel in Haly Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man had been evicted from licensed premises but then attempted to regain entry.

At 7:00pm on Sunday, Kingaroy police stopped a vehicle for a random breath test in Kingaroy Street. The 19-year-old male driver, from Brisbane, allegedly blew .055.

At 10:00pm on Sunday, a police patrol in Youngman Street pulled over another vehicle. The 20-year-old female driver from Nanango will face a charge of unlicensed driving.

There have been 130 fatalities on Queensland roads so far this year, and 13 in July alone.

On July 9, police stopped a vehicle for speeding on the Bunya Highway near the outskirts of Kumbia.

The 43-year-old Brisbane driver was allegedly doing 125km/h in a 100km/h zone.

He also allegedly recorded a positive breath test, blowing .097.

Two men will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court following an alleged fight at a hotel in Haly Street on July 10.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with public nuisance.

A 46-year-old man will face a similar charge as well as a count of obstructing police.

A 21-year-old Nanango man stopped by police at 3:00am on July 13 while driving on the D’Aguilar Highway near Kingaroy has been issued with a notice to appear in court.

Police will allege he was driving in contravention of a late-night driving restriction on his licence.
