The South Burnett Regional Council’s team of volunteers – who help to keep the region’s Visitor Information Centres, art galleries and libraries ticking over – attended a special information forum at the Kingaroy Town Common Hall on Thursday.
Volunteer service awards were presented in the morning and then guest speakers from Kingsley Grove Estate Wines, the Peanut Company of Australia and Boondooma Homestead took to the floor.
Information about the new Wellcamp Airport, near Toowoomba, was also presented.
The volunteers learned more about the various flight options from the airport: to Sydney, Melbourne and outback and north Queensland.
After lunch, South Burnett mayor Keith Campbell spoke briefly.
In the afternoon, there were more guest speakers … this time from Bunya Red Caper Farm and Ringsfield House.
SBRC Economic Development Manager Phil Harding also spoke about the new South Burnett Tourism project.
