Ready, steady … roll! It’s time to climb up Policeman’s Hill in Goomeri again and send your pumpkins to their fate.

The 20th annual Pumpkin Festival will take in Goomeri this Sunday (May 29).

Events will get underway at 6:00am with a barbecue in the Food Hall at the Goomeri Community Building in Dickinson Park.

The street markets will begin at 8:00am and run all day.

And a giant Heritage And Outback Street Parade will start at the Hall of Memory in Boonara Street at 10:30am, finishing at the Tennis Courts.

South Burnett chef Jason Ford will be celebrating his tenth year of cooking at the festival, too.

This year he’ll be taking to the stage with My Kitchen Rules 2013 winners Dan and Steph.

The trio will be performing cooking demonstrations throughout the day at the BGA carpark, opposite Foodworks, as well as selling delicious food a cookbooks at a tent next to their demonstration area.

There’ll be lots of other free entertainment too, including whip-cracking displays, pig racing and all the usual pumpkin-themed fun, from decorated and giant pumpkin competitions to pumpkin bowls and pumpkin shotput.

The Great Australian Pumpkin Roll is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm.
