South Burnett Saints notched up their third straight win at the weekend

Saints strong start to the 2016 season continued on Saturday with a strong win over the Toowoomba Tigers at Lyle Vidler Oval.

The home team led throughout the game but took charge after the half-time break.

It was a big game for Saints’ No 24 Jordan Pressnell, who not only kicked two goals but also notched up his 50th game for the Saints, the first player to achieve this feat since the South Burnett team joined the Darling Downs competition.

The final score was 17.8 (110) to 12.14 (86).

Saints’ goals were kicked by Ty Snow (5), Carl Stevenson (3), Jordan Pressnell (2), Brad Edwards (2), Matthew Patroni, Dylan Bowater, David Black, Christopher Tonks and Kieran Askin.

The Toowoomba Tigers were too strong for the Saints’ women’s team

In the women’s competition, the Saints were overwhelmed by the more experienced Toowoomba side, 15.10 (100) to 4.4 (28).

Saints’ goals were kicked by Jessica Langton (3) and Kayla Smith (1).
