April 5, 2016

Bean Growers Australia are looking for a new slogan to commemorate the United Nations declaring 2016 the International Year Of Pulses (IYOP).

The Kingaroy company, which is one of the biggest pulse and bean processors in Australia, is planning to celebrate IYOP by holding an open day at their River Road processing complex in August.

They will also be teaming up with a well-known local chef to raise awareness about the health benefits of the many different types of pulses grown in the South Burnett.

And they’ll be running several competitions so the general public can get involved too.

The first IYOP competition kicked off this week.

“Our company is looking for a new slogan,” Beangrowers’ Veronica Roderick said.

“We’re looking for something that’s good and memorable in eight words or less – and it doesn’t matter if it’s funny, serious, catchy or even if it rhymes.

“The winner will take home a great first prize in the form of a Kitchenaid Artisan Stand Mixer, which comes complete with an ice cream bowl attachment and is valued at over $1000.”

The competition is open until the close of business on Friday, April 29.

Entrants need to be aged 18 or over and not be employed by Beangrowers.

Entries must be eight words or less, and be accompanied by the name and contact details of the person submitting the entry, including a phone number so the company can contact the winner.

Entrants will also need to like Beangrowers’ Facebook page before they email their entry.

The winner and their winning slogan will be announced on Beangrowers’ Facebook page on Friday, May 6.
