The second annual Maidenwell Fun Run – a major fundraiser for the Tanduringie State School – is on again this weekend.

Runners will be competing over seven distances – from 2.2km to an incredible 56km – on roads in the Maidenwell, Pimpimbudgee and Wengenville areas.

There are nine events over Saturday and Sunday:

  • Easter Saturday – 14km, 28km, 42.195km and 56km, starting at 6:00am.
  • Easter Sunday – 2.2km, 5km, 10km, 21.1km and 42.195km, starting between 6:00am and 8:00am

Students from Tanduringie State School will be taking part in some of the shorter runs.

The event is organised by Bruce “‘Digger” Hargreaves and members of the Maidenwell community.

The Rockabilly Riders motorcycle club will also be descending on Maidenwell at the weekend as part of a club run.

On Saturday night, the Maidenwell Hotel  will be hosting a Pig On A Spit  night from 6:00pm which should prove popular with runners camping over at Maidenwell for Sunday’s events as well as the Rockabilly Riders.

The big weekend in Maidenwell will be topped off on Sunday night with a Bull Ride and Rodeo family night starting at 5:30pm.

There will be a Bull Ride,  Novice Bull Ride,  U18 Junior Bull Ride, U14 Junior Steer Ride and U12 Poddy Ride  with cash prizes from $100 to $1500.
