The 76th Goomeri Show has been extended across three days this year with a Cow Horse competition on Saturday night and the Bendigo Bank Stockman’s Challenge on Sunday.

The Goomeri Show kicked off on Friday with the judging of the BGA AgriServices Lucerne Hay competition. The winner will be presented with their prize at 5:00pm on Saturday.  As usual, all Pavilion competitions were also judged on Friday.

Saturday is always the main day of the show, and will feature all the usual show events including showjumping and ring events, Prime Beef and Stud Beef cattle competitions and a big sideshow alley.

The show will be officially opened at 2:00pm and the Grand Parade will follow immediately afterwards at 2:30pm.

The fun will continue on Saturday night with the Cow Horse competition (part of the Stockman’s Challenge) and fireworks about 7:30pm.

The Stockman’s Challenge was so popular last year that it has been extended for this year’s show.

On Sunday, it will start at 9:00am and four classes will be contested: Junior Horse (under 5 years), Senior Horse (over five years), Rider 12-16 Years, and Junior Rider (Under 12 years).

Admission to the Goomeri Show is $10 for adults, children aged 13 to under 18 are $5, and under 12s free.

A family pass is available for $25 for two adults and two children aged 13 to under 18.
