On the first Saturday of every month, musicians young and old turn up to jam at the Hivesville Hotel.
Publican Rob Brearley took over the hotel late last year, and was keen to add more music to the pub’s line-up.
He brought in his “Kennel Jam Sessions”, which he has been involved with at other Queensland pubs.
The sessions are open to everyone, no matter their experience. And all musical genres are welcome.
Local bands such as Muddy Flats have been regulars, but musicians have also been travelling in from elsewhere.
Drummer Vince Gee comes down from Bundaberg every month to take part.
All lighting, PA equipment and other backline gear is provided. All musicians have to do is being along their own musical instrument.
The Kennel Jams start at 5:00pm on the first Saturday of every month and run until late.
