South Burnett Regional Council plans to start work on a project to widen the Blackbutt-Crows Nest Road on Monday (March 7).
The work will take place between the Knaggs Court and Corcoran Road intersections.
It will include widening and new bitumen to provide a two-lane sealed surface.
There will also be improvements to the intersections at Ogilvie and Haynes Kite Millar roads.
A Council spokesperson said the works would be staged to minimise disruption to local traffic.
Traffic will be either controlled by stop/go workers or by traffic lights, with minor delays to be expected.
The project should be completed late this year.
