A 19-year-old Kingaroy man has been summonsed to appear in court after a fire alarm was triggered at Kingaroy Shoppingworld last Tuesday.
Firefighters were called to the mall about lunchtime but found no fire.
CCTV footage allegedly shows the teenager, who was accompanied by a friend, triggering the fire alarm and then laughing.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said compensation and restitution would be sought to cover the “considerable” cost of the fire service callout.

A 34-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court in March after he was stopped for a random breath test about 11:30pm on Friday.
Police will allege he had a BAC of .081.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils after a search of a house in Gooyong Street, Kingaroy, on Thursday.
Police allege they located a small amount of cannabis.
