You may have always thought your local coffee shop was the best, but there’s a new barista king in town.
Donut King has just been named the nation’s Coffee Shop of the Year in the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction awards.
The award comes off the back of the group’s 2015 Canstar Blue win for Most Satisfied Customers.
Donut King Kingaroy franchisee, Doug Fogg, said he wanted to thank his customers.
“Our store focuses on creating a fun experience for our customers and we want to thank them for their support, as well as our entire in-store barista team for all their hard work,” Doug said.
Doug believes the secret to the chain’s success boils down to great tasting coffee and delicious donuts.
Donut King Managing Director Nicholas Brill said this is the first year Donut King has taken out the award.
He said it showed customers perceive Donut King as a quality coffee shop.
“It’s an honour to win this award and fantastic to see all the hard work from our baristas and franchisees being recognised,” Mr Brill said.
“Donut King has been working tirelessly on customer satisfaction and enhancing the quality of our coffee through a dedication to barista training.
“Our coffee is made from a unique blend of Royal Bean coffee beans roasted right here in Australia, and has been crafted to pair perfectly with donuts.”
Donut King has been serving cinnamon donuts for more than 30 years and has evolved into Australia’s largest speciality donut retailer.
The Roy Morgan award recognises retailers that go the extra mile to satisfy and meet the needs of their customers and are leaders in their industry.
