A bizarre crash involving two parked cars occurred in Alford Street, Kingaroy, at the height of Friday afternoon’s thunderstorm.

Witnesses told southburnett.com.au a white Mitsubishi being reversed out of a parking bay crashed at speed into the side of a parked car, pushing that vehicle into a third parked car.

The incident occurred about 1:55pm.

Ambulance paramedics treated two people at the scene.

A police spokesman said a 78-year-old Kingaroy woman, who was driving the Mitsubishi, was taken to Kingaroy Hospital suffering shock.

A 32-year-old woman from Gayndah, believed to have been sitting in the second vehicle, was taken to the same hospital with suspected whiplash injuries.

All three vehicles were badly damaged, with the centre vehicle requiring towing.
