Police say seven drug drivers were detected on Kingaroy roads in just five hours on Wednesday.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said local police as well as Road Policing Units from Toowoomba and Dalby took part in the mobile operation.

The five men and two women allegedly tested positive to methamphetamine or cannabis, or both.

The average age of the drivers was 31.

The drivers charged were: a 20-year-old Kingaroy man, a 36-year-old Kingaroy woman, a 28-year-old Kingaroy man, a 42-year-old Nanango woman, a 24-year-old Kingaroy man, a 47-year-old Cloyna man and a 23-year-old man from South Nanango.

Snr Sgt Frank said it was concerning that seven drivers had been detected between 10:00am and 3:00pm.
