A motorbike rider was taken to hospital with minor injuries after an incident on the Kingaroy-Cooyar Road just north of Maidenwell on Monday morning.

Police believe a vehicle was stopped at the Tanduringie Creek bridge when the motorbike ran into the rear of it just before 10:00am.

The 25-year-old male rider was taken to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.

Nanango Police are investigating a series of break-ins or attempted break-ins at Maidenwell at the weekend.

Police  believe two men attempted to break into the Maidenwell Hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning.

They were disturbed about 1:30am and then went across the road and attempted to pull a paling off the fence at the Maidenwell Trading Post.

The pair then allegedly smashed a window in the Maidenwell Community Hall and opened a sliding door to gain entry to the building. Nothing is believed to have been stolen.

They then drove away in a vehicle.

Police investigations are continuing.

A driver is facing a hefty fine after being stopped by Nanango Police on the D’Aguilar Highway on Tuesday afternoon.  He was allegedly  travelling at 141km/h in the 100km/h sone.
