Oakey Show Society life member Denis Janetzki has been elected president of the Darling Downs Sub-Chamber of Agricultural Societies.
He was elected at the association’s recent AGM, replacing John Koehler who has been president for more than 10 years.
Mr Janetzki first became involved with the Oakey Show Society in 1972, and was president from 2003-13.
He has also served five terms as vice-president of the Darling Downs Sub-Chamber.
The 2016 Queensland shows circuit kicks off on January 29 with the Stanthorpe Show.
The first of the local shows is the Cooyar Show on February 20.
