Graham House is bringing the six-week “Circle of Security” parenting program to Murgon and Kingaroy later this year.

The program is a relationship-based early intervention program designed to enhance attachment security between parents and children.

Research shows secure children exhibit increased empathy, greater self-esteem, better relationships with parents and peers, enhanced school readiness, and an increased capacity to handle emotions more effectively.

The courses, which have been funded by the Department of Communities, aim to help parents understand their children’s emotional world and needs.

“Circle of Security” also aims to show parents how important it is to help their children deal effectively with their emotions and build confidence and self-esteem.

The sessions are friendly and casual but closed, which means it is essential to register before attending Week 1.

At Murgon, the “Circle of Security” program will run from 9:30am to 11:30am on Thursdays from February 25 to March 31 at Graham House Community Centre, 21 Taylor Street.

In Kingaroy, the program will run from 9:30am to 11:30am on Thursdays from May 5 to June 9 at the 1913 Council Chambers in Edward Street.
