The State Government launched a Homeless Hotline last month – just in time for the holiday season – to help people in need.
The Homeless Hotline is an information and referral service for people who are experiencing homelessness and is designed to specifically help:
- Single people aged over 16
- Mothers with children
- Fathers with children
- Families
- Couples
- Those experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
When people call, they will be provided information about where to find support, accommodation, meals or showers, and in some cases people may be referred to other services for further help.
The Homeless Hotline number is 1800-474-753.
The service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
