Two men and two women were taken to hospital with minor injuries after a collision on the Bunya Highway south of Kingaroy on Monday afternoon.

One patient, a 76-year-old Kumbia man, was later airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.

The incident occurred at the intersection of the Bunya Highway and Stuart Valley Road, near the Stuart River Bridge, about 2:00pm.

The driver of one car, a 47-year-old woman, allegedly failed to give way to a vehicle on the highway, striking it in the side.

She has been issued with a notice to appear in court for driving without due care and attention.

Her two passengers were a 24-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man.
