The Nanango Race Club will be holding its annual Christmas Race Meeting at the Lee Park Raceway on Saturday.

This is the last South Burnett race meeting for the year, and for racegoers it’s also a popular way to kick off their Festive Season celebrations.

The meeting’s theme is “Christmas Red” and guests are encouraged to dress up in their best Yuletide outfits to be in the running for some great Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field prizes.

A special feature of this year’s meeting will be a challenge by bookie John O’Sullivan, who is offering a $1000 prize to anyone who can pick the winners of all five of today’s races in Nanango.

Every guest over 18 who comes through the gate will be given an entry form – simply place your selections in the box in the bookmakers ring prior to the running of the first race.

In the event there’s more than one winner, the $1000 prize will be split equally amongst all winners.

The Carrollee Hotel will be also running a special $50 per head deluxe marquee at the track for patrons who want to really celebrate Christmas in style – tickets can be booked by phoning the hotel on (07) 4162-1055.

The club’s popular Pink Champagne bar will be running all day too, and there’ll also be a licensed bar and barbecue, bookies and an on-course tote.

Buses will be running from Kingaroy’s Kingaroy’s Glendon Street Bus Depot at noon, and the Nanango RSL at 12:30pm.

Gates will open at the track at 10:00am and the first race will leave the barriers at 1:35pm.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners (under-15s are free).
