Cattle producers have been asked to comment on the Bovine Johne’s Disease Framework Document, the final step in the national BJD Review process.

The BJD Review, co-ordinated by Animal Health Australia, will shape the future management of BJD in Australia.

The Framework Document provides a summary of how Australia can more effectively manage BJD  in cattle into the future and represents the views and deliberations of the cattle industries and State and Territory governments.

“The proposed Framework Document was released on Monday, November 2, and is now available for public comment until November 18, 2015,”  AHA’s Executive Manager of Biosecurity Duncan Rowland said.

“We’ve already received valuable feedback from government and industry stakeholders as well as the general public through our national forums, think tanks and public consultations and the Framework Document provides a final opportunity for input from interested parties.

The State Government has encouraged all Queensland producers to consider the framework and how it may affect livestock management and disease outcomes, and to provide feedback on the proposal.

Information about how to comment is available on the Animal Health Australia website
