The rain in Spain may fall mainly on the plain, as my old elocution teacher used to insist, but last week the rest of it fell in various places around the South Burnett.
Yarraman Bowls Club registered about two inches, and according to one of the regulars the green looked like a “shag pile carpet”.
Hence there are no bowls matches worth reporting from that club.
Instead, most of the keen bowlers took the opportunity to return visits to neighbouring clubs.
The one exception was the Men’s Rosebowl at Nanango, which filled the green on the weekend.
We keenly await the cards from there, and should have a wrap-up report on this next week.

Announcement of trophy winners started at the bottom of the trophy list:

- Runners Up: Barry Gough, Shaun Kelly, Greg Staniforth and Dozer Bechly

On Tuesday, six ladies attended Caboolture Memorial’s President’s At Home Day and Birthday function.
Margaret Worrall and Pauline Lawson attended as part of the CDLBA team, while Trudi Pratt, Fay Vicary, Liz Frawley and Val Wells represented Kilcoy.
Winners were drawn out of the hat, and Pauline and Fay were both had their names come out.
Combined with their narrow win against the friendly ladies from Solander Lake, the Kilcoy ladies had a very pleasant day.
On Kilcoy’s Blackboard:
- Wed Nov 11: Pub Day sponsored by the Club.
- Sat Nov 14: SIDS Charity Day sponsored by Gill and Lester Bechly
