The Kingaroy Stock & Rural Crime Investigation Squad is investigating incidents in the Gayndah area where fences appear to have been deliberately damaged, allowing stock to escape.

In the latest incident, unknown offenders have deliberately opened wires from a strainer post in Yenda Road, north of Ban Ban Springs, sometime between October 22-24.

This allowed cattle to stray across a large area.

A number of the beasts have been located however five Brahman cross speyed heifers are still missing.

Detectives are seeking public assistance with the identification of the offenders responsible for possibly removing the cattle.

The missing cattle are branded Lazy U 1 J with an earmark code AA6BY7.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800-333-000.
