Police are again reminding residents to “lock it or lose it”, especially in semi-rural areas.

There have been reports over the past two months of vehicles being entered and premises being broken into in the Goombungee, Haden, Meringandan and Kingsthorpe areas.

“Thieves love it when they find sheds, houses and vehicles unlocked and take advantage of the easy access,” a Goombungee police spokesman said.

“Even though you may live in a semi-rural area, it is well past the time where you can leave things unlocked.”
