A woman has been charged with dangerous driving and a man charged with going armed in public to cause fear after an incident in Somerset Street, Kingaroy, on Monday afternoon.

Police were called about 4:00pm after reports of a disturbance.

It will be alleged a 42-year-old Kingaroy man had become involved in an altercation with a group of youths. The man left in a vehicle, and allegedly returned a short time later.

“Police will allege he exited the vehicle carrying an iron bar and threatened the same group of youths,” officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said.

“Another man became concerned that someone could be injured.

“Police were called and the man was taken into custody.”

However, Snr Sgt Frank said that at the same time as this was happening, a 39-year-old woman in an older model 4WD Jeep began driving the vehicle around the area in a dangerous manner.

“A 17-year-old man was struck with the vehicle and knocked over,” Snr Sgt Frank said.

“The female in the vehicle left the area but was located by police in the Kingaroy CBD a short time later.”

She was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, and the vehicle was seized for 90 days. She has been ordered to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 16.

The 42-year-old man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 26.
