A 29-year-old  Brisbane man, released from jail in August on parole, will face at least four charges following a car crash south of Nanango on Saturday afternoon.

About 2:00pm, emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash on the D’Aguilar Highway near Elouera Drive.

Police allege the vehicle involved, a Hyundai sedan, was stolen on Saturday morning from Holland Park in Brisbane.

The injured driver was taken to Kingaroy Hospital, and then later transferred under police custody to Toowoomba Hospital for treatment.

Upon release, he was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, failing to dispose of drug utensils and dangerous driving.

He remains in police custody.

Kingaroy police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said blood samples had been taken from the driver while he was in hospital and he may face further charges.

He said the man was also wanted on a return-to-prison warrant.

“Police have spoken to a number of witnesses in relation to his manner of driving prior to crashing,” Snr Sgt Frank said.
