Kingaroy RSL’s Wayne Kelly finished 55 not out in Saturday’s match against the Wondai Wolves

Opener Wayne Kelly led the way with the bat at Wondai to secure a victory for Kingaroy RSL Services in the A Grade cricket match played against the Wolves on Saturday.

Kingaroy batted first and were all out for 170.

Kelly ran out of partners, finishing 55 not out.

Next best of the Kingaroy RSL batsmen were Luke Medcalf (37) and Nathan Bain (15).

Best of the Wondai bowlers were Clayton Graham (4/27) and Robert Robarts (2/26).

In reply, Wondai were all out for 104.

Derek Sander (35) and Robert Robarts (22) both made good starts.

Darren Geiger (3/5 off six overs) and Mark Schmidt (3/28 off nine overs) ripped through the Wondai attack.

RSL won by 66 runs.

In the other A Grade game, Nanango Scorpions hosted the unbeaten Murgon Crusaders.

Crusaders won the toss and batted first, finishing 6/207 off their 45 overs.

Graham Brown (74) and Lehman Brunjes (35) kept the scoreboard ticking over.

Best of the Nanango bowlers were Dean Olzard (2/35 off nine overs) and Brendan Weil (2/43 off seven overs).

In reply, Nanango were all out for 149 in the 37th over.

Glen Doyle (33) and Michael “Freddy” Davies (20) added some valuable runs.

Best of the Murgon Crusaders were Ashley Hankinson (2/22 off seven overs), Graham Brown (2/25 off nine overs) and Jamian Currin (2/45 off seven overs).

In B Grade, Nanango Scorpions took on Kingaroy RSL Services at Nanango.

Kingaroy batted first, making 8/252 off their 40 overs.

Louis Fairbairn (76) and Brian Walters (59) were best with the bat.

Nick Scherger, Blake Calvert  and Finn Humphries took two wickets apiece.

In reply, Nanango were all out for 58 in 19 overs.

Gavin Jones (14) and Nick Scherger (12) posted the best scores.

Best of the Kingaroy bowlers were Karl Freeman (3/10) and Adrian Webster (2/5).

Cherbourg travelled to Kumbia to take on the Rattlers in B Grade.

Kumbia won the toss and batted first, setting a target of 149.

Top scorers were Ryan Kelly  (36) and Shane Laherty (23).

Nev Kratzmann was the best of the Cherbourg bowlers, taking 2/13 off three overs.

In reply, Cherbourg were all out for 116.

David Warner finished 27 not out while Nev Kratzmann added 23 runs.

Kumbia’s Warren Cross took five wickets for just 24 runs off eight overs.

Kumbia won by 33 runs.

In the third B Grade game played on Saturday, Warriors faced Murgon Diggers in Kingaroy.

Warriors batted first and finished with 7/209 from their 40 overs.

Best batsmen were Jackson Hay (50), Paul Clegg (43) and Luke Smith (23 not out).

Best of the Diggers’ bowlers were Edward Allcock (2/22 from eight overs) and James Brimblecombe (2/40 from five overs).

In reply, Murgon overhauled the target in the 30th over with the loss of just four wickets.

Diggers finished with 217.

Top scorers were Rodney Anderson (76), Nathan Nixon (50 not out) and John Kapernick (32).

Dane Bloomfield was the pick of the Warriors’ bowlers, taking 2/35 off eight overs.

Diggers won by six wickets in a high-scoring game.
