QFF President Stuart Armitage

Darling Downs cotton grower Stuart Armitage has been elected president of the Queensland Farmers’ Federation.

The QFF held its annual general meeting on Thursday and Mr Armitage was elected unopposed.

Former president Joanne Grainger will remain on the Board as a director alongside Les Williams, Allan Dingle and re-elected Vice-President Brian Tessmann.

Recently appointed CEO Ruth Wade said Mr Armitage’s appointment brought extensive experience in rural industry and agricultural representation to the organisation.

Stuart previously served on the QFF board as a director and is also is a board member of Cotton Australia.
