Four fire crews were called to a grass fire which broke out about 1:10pm on Gympie-Woolooga Road at Widgee, near Upper Widgee Road.
A QFES spokesman said the fire was posing no threat to property however Widgee residents would be affected by a smoke haze.
Residents were asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.
Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.
If residents are concerned their property is under threat they should call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
