Helping out during the 2013 Flood Appeal … “Country” Bob cooking up the snags again at another CROW-FM outside broadcast

September 30, 2015

Well-known former South Burnett radio announcer “Country Bob” died on Tuesday night after a long illness.

Bob Stevenson was a valued part of the CROW-FM team for many years, but before that was also the voice of country music on Radio 4SB in Kingaroy.

He was known for his sense of humour on air as well as his deep knowledge of Australian country music.

After being in and out of hospital for some time, Bob recently shifted into Castra Nursing Home in Murgon.

Bob’s funeral service will be held at Virgo’s Funeral Home Chapel at 24 Pioneer Avenue, Kingaroy (adjacent to the Taabinga Cemetery) on Wednesday, October 7 at 10:30am.

  1. Commiserations to Bob’s family. I first met Bob in Canberra in the RAAF in 1962 and worked with him in a couple of locations, including Melbourne. A thoroughly good man and colleague who I wish I had recently visited before he departed way too young. R.I.P old mate
