Police have charged two men with a number of offences following an incident at a house in Kaimkillenbun on Friday night.

Police were called to the home on Moffat Street about 8:20pm after reports of a disturbance.

They say they tried to detain a man, who physically resisted.

The man allegedly punched a police officer several times to the head and bit him on the arm.

The man was eventually handcuffed and arrested.

Another man allegedly tried to stop police detaining the first man; he was also arrested and charged.

The injured police constable suffered a bite mark to his right arm along with several abrasions and bruises. He was treated at Dalby Hospital.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with three counts of serious assault of a police officer and one count each of serious assault with intent to resist arrest and assault occasioning bodily harm. He will appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on September 28.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with obstructing police and will appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on October 20.
