One of the highlights at Yarraman Bowls Club this week was the semi-final of the Yarraman Men’s Mixed Triples.

The match between Brian Dugdell’s trio and Billy Holmes’ team was a thriller.

It was described by the gallery as better than an end-to-end battle – it was a ball-by-ball battle – and no one left to go home until the finish.

To make it even more of a heart stopper, they beat the light switch by just five minutes.

Over twenty-one ends, Brian Dugdell’s combo scored 19 to down Bill Holmes’ team on 15.

A three on end 20 really put the pressure on.

Brian’s team comprised his wife Kay as skip, the wily George Wolski as a clever second and Brian, who was last year’s Fours skip.

The losers were Lorri Holmes, Kerry Knowles and skip Bill Holmes.

The leadership went ball by ball.

It was 9-8 on end 11, and 12-all on end 14.

Dugdell now meets Robbie Douglass in a date to be decided by the Games Director.
