Kingaroy police are investigating the theft of a 15-foot caravan from Oil Seeds Road at Memerambi.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the Glenwood caravan had been used for some time as a weekend getaway by its Sunshine Coast owner.

However, when she visited the property on Friday she discovered the van was missing.

“It was well-established on the block and contained a quantity of personal items,” Snr Sgt Frank said.

Police believe someone hitched up the unregistered van and towed it away between the end of August and early September.

The sudden death of a 22-year-old Kingaroy man on July 8 during an incident in Gladys Street, Kingaroy, has been referred by police to the Coroner.

Police allegedly located a  rifle and a shortened shotgun hidden in a mattress in a bedroom.

A 48-year-old man pulled over by police on the D’Aguilar Highway between Kingaroy and Nanango at 5:00am on Monday allegedly blew .059 BAC when breath-tested.

Police initially stopped the vehicle because they believed the man was speeding.

Police executed a drug search warrant on a house in Carinya Street, Kingaroy, on Wednesday.

A 21-year-old man has been issued with a notice to appear in court on a charge of possessing a drug utensil.

A 40-year-old Kingaroy man has had his car impounded for 90 days and has been issued a notice to appear in court on October 27 on hooning charges.

Police tracked down the man after reports of hooning behaviour in Youngman Street, Kingaroy, just before 6:00pm on Sunday.

Snr Sgt Frank said police located a number of tyre marks where a car appeared to have done burnouts.

Police made inquiries at a nearby house but allegedly found the occupants unco-operative.

Police then spoke to witnesses and checked CCTV footage before returning to the house on Tuesday afternoon and seizing the car.

Police sprung into action when they spotted a man chuck an empty milk carton out his vehicle window in Haly Street, Kingaroy, on Thursday afternoon.

They intercepted the vehicle and issued the man with a notice to appear in court on a charge of littering.

A 39-year-old woman will appear in court on a charge of unlicensed driving after police pulled her over her Holden Statesman in Knight Street, Kingaroy, at 11:30am on Wednesday.

Police allege the woman is a repeat offender, and seized the number plates off the vehicle for seven days.

The annual National Police Remembrance Day service will be held from 3:00pm on September 29 at the Uniting Church, Kingaroy.

The service commemorates the 140 police officers who have lost their lives in Queensland over the past 150 years, and police staff members and retired police who have died over the past 12 months.
