A man aged in his 20s has been airlifted by helicopter after his vehicle ran off the road, overturned and smashed into a tree at Johnstown, north of Nanango, on Thursday afternoon.

An RACQ CareFlight spokesman said the man was driving along the Linville Forestry Road when his vehicle rolled.

He suffered a suspected broken leg in the crash.

The Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter responded to the accident shortly before 4:00pm.

The man was flown to Oakey in a stable condition, however due to poor weather conditions, he was then transported by the Queensland Ambulance Service via road to Toowoomba Hospital.
