A grass fire on Shellytop Road at Durong on Sunday afternoon was quickly brought under control with no loss of property,
At one stage it was reported flames were burning within 700m of houses.
Two urban and six rural fire crews attended the fire, which was reported at 12:25pm.
They worked to blacken out the area.
By 3:30pm most firefighters had left the scene with just one crew left to monitor the area.
