A toddler’s big adventure ended at Kingaroy Police Station on Sunday morning after concerned members of the public contacted police.
The three-year-old boy was noticed standing on the road near the corner of Markwell and Youngman streets in Kingaroy about 11:30am.
Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, said police doorknocked the local area but could not find anyone who recognised the young boy.
They then took the toddler back to the station where some gentle police “interrogation” elicited a few clues from the boy.
Police officers made some phone calls and soon located a young couple who were blissfully unaware that their child was not asleep in the bedroom.
The couple attended the station and collected the boy, who was unhurt by his morning jaunt.

A 17-year-old woman allegedly “mooned” police on Saturday afternoon in the Kingaroy CBD in a bizarre incident which has left officers puzzled.
Snr Sgt Frank said police were talking to members of the public in relation to another matter when the woman began swearing at the officers from across the road.
He said she was yelling and making various hand and body gestures to abuse police. She then allegedly pulled down her pants …
Police later caught up with her.
Snr Sgt Frank said she was unco-operative and refused to comply with police instructions. She was restrained and placed in a police vehicle where she allegedly began kicking the panels and “thrashing about”.
“She also attempted a number of times to spit on police,” Snr Sgt Frank said.
The woman has been charged with obstructing police, wilful exposure, wilful damage and two counts of public nuisance.
