The annual South Burnett Interschool Equestrian Competition was held at the Kingaroy Showgrounds during Catholic Education Week in July and attracted 75 riders from schools across the region.

The event was run by St Mary’s Catholic College.

The SB Equestrian Event featured the usual blue, red, white and green sashes for winners in all ages from Prep to Year 12.

Excellent weather combined with a friendly yet competitive high spirits ensure that all riders were able to enjoy the day.

Events included dressage, show jumping, hacking, and speed events such as barrel racing, diamond flag race, bending, and keyhole race.

For many riders, the day was a good preparation for the next level of competition at the Fraser Coast Competition to be held in mid-August.

This year Aggregate Trophy went to the Goomeri State School, who have been successful with this award for several years in succession.

Age Champions and Reserve Age Champions were also awarded in all age groups.
