A single-storey house in Faulkners Road at Booie was completely destroyed by fire on Tuesday afternoon.

Six fire crews were called to the scene, just before noon.

A QFES spokesperson said the dwelling was well alight when firefighters arrived.

While urban firefighters fought the building fire, rural firies concentrated on a grass fire which was sparked by the burning house.

Ambulance, police and Ergon Energy crews also attended the scene, but no one was injured.

The cause of the fire, which razed the home, has not yet been established.

The owner was not at home when the fire started.

The fire was under control by 12:50pm and firefighters left the area at 2:15pm after dampening down hotspots.

A crew returned later on Tuesday night to make sure the grass fire had not reignited.
