The trunk of the snapped tree crushed the roof of the Ford Falcon sedan

Kingaroy police are trying to locate the driver of a silver Ford Falcon Ghia sedan which ran off the D’Aguilar Highway early on Friday morning.

The vehicle appears to have lost control while heading south along the highway near Bellbird Road, at Coolabunia, and slammed into a deep ditch on the side of the road, crashing into a tree.

The incident occurred between 6:00am and 6:30am.

The driver / passengers then abandoned the vehicle.

It is not believed to be stolen.

The sedan suffered significant damage but it appears the driver must have escaped serious injury

A boy who suffered a suspected spinal injury during a game of football on Saturday has been airlifted to hospital.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter picked up the injured teenager on Saturday evening and flew him to Bundaberg Base Hospital where he will undergo further tests.

An RACQ CareFlight spokesperson said he travelled in a stable condition.

No further information is available.

A car exhaust has been blamed for starting a grass fire which spread quickly near Kingaroy on Friday afternoon.

Urban and rural firefighters attended about 4:30pm and extinguished the blaze.

Nanango Police are investigating a break and enter which occurred on Thursday night.

Someone broke into a house undergoing renovations and stole building tools.
