Toowoomba Regional Council is asking Yarraman and Cooyar residents to have their say on Council’s draft strategy covering the region’s swimming pools.
The strategy contains recommendations for Council’s nine swimming pools, including a multi-million dollar re-development in Toowoomba and a re-developed fitness and recreation centre at Highfields.
The strategy also recommends several changes at the Yarraman Swimming Pool, including a new family changing area, pool ramp entry and a barbecue.
It suggests that TRC retain the management of the Highfields and Milne Bay centres but outsource Council’s other aquatic facilities to independent operators.
However, all nine facilities will be viewed as one integrated business from a marketing and program perspective.
