The Wondai Heritage Museum has a special exhibit on display at the moment: a magnificent model of the HMS Endeavour, the barque which brought Captain James Cook to the east coast of Australia in 1770.

The intricate model was built by former museum volunteer Craig Nicholson and took two years to put together.

Sadly Craig, 84, died last year.

His family has now loaned his model to the museum so the public can enjoy Craig’s labour of love.

The Wondai Heritage Museum is open Monday to Friday from 10:00am to 3:00pm.  Entry free is $2.
