Antarctic adventurer Zane Hacker visited Nanango Library recently to share tales about his experiences on the icy continent since 2007.

About 20 people turned up to hear Zane’s talk, which was also repeated at Kingaroy and Proston libraries.

Zane recently launched a book, “Antarctic Sundays”, about his experiences. It is full of brilliant photographs … and recipes (which seemed a natural for the former Whitsundays chef).

Sunday was his only day off when he was working as a vessel operator in Antarctica.

The book grew out of his Sunday journalling and emails to friends, hence the title.

“Antarctic Sundays” is a mix of Zane’s Antarctic photographs with gourmet recipes and tales of his exploits.

He now hopes to carve out a career as a  food and travel writer.
