South Burnett CTC’s Heritage Lodge accommodation project in Nanango is one step closer following the signing of a building contract last week.

Clint Andrewartha, from Hontondo Homes in Kingaroy, has been contracted to build the first three duplexes in the project.

CTC CEO Nina Temperton said South Burnett Regional Council had approved the Material Change of Use for the land.

Clearing of the block, at the corner of Gipps and Dalby streets, would start in July.

When completed, Heritage Lodge will provide long-term accommodation in six duplexes for people with disabilities, however CTC plans to develop the project in stages.

Mrs Temperton said the estimated completion date for the first three duplexes was February 28, 2016.

The project is being funded by the Heritage Nanango Fund, South Burnett CTC and the State Government with support from the South Burnett Regional Council.
