University put up a good fight but couldn’t match the South Burnett side

South Burnett Saints showed why they are at the top of the AFL Darling Downs 2nd Division table, outplaying University throughout their clash on Saturday in Kingaroy.

The three-week break from competition also didn’t appear to have done the Saints any harm.

The South Burnett side led at every change but really took off after half-time, kicking eight goals to the Cougars’ three.

The final score was 15.11 (101) to 7.15 (57).

South Burnett goal scorers were Ty Snow (4), Adam Branch (3), Adam Bowater (2), Braeden Snow, Paul Judge, Scott Ingram, Daniel Rogers, Brad Edwards and Amos Hicks.

The Saints’ U16s and Women’s sides both had byes.
