Coming off two wins and a loss, the Queensland 15 & Under cricket team, has had mixed fortunes for the rest of the week of the School Sport Australia Cricket Championships played in Darwin.

The team finished the competition in third spot on the ladder behind NSW and Victoria but well-ahead of the othern States and Territory.

The Queenslanders took on the undefeated Victoria in a semi-final on Thursday, and defeated them …chasing down the target of 142 for the loss of eight wickets and with just five balls to spare.

Murgon’s Jared Sippel scored 12 – including a six and a four.

The boys then took on NSW on Friday, the only team to have beaten them during this campaign.

Batting first, NSW made 8/214 off their 50 overs.  In reply, Queensland fell short, all out for 127 in the 38th over.

The bright news was, though, that Sippel again top-scored for Queensland, making 37 runs off the 59 balls faced, including four boundaries.
