Murgon cricketer Jared Sippel has notched up more success in Darwin today, with the Queensland team securing a win in Round 2 of the 15 & Under School Sport Australia Cricket Championships.

This time the Queensland team came up against South Australia, and defeated them by 21 runs.

Jared was unlucky to be caught behind on just the third ball he faced, but he made up for it with his bowling.

He took three wickets off his 10 overs (including two maidens) for just 23 runs.

Queensland finished with 10/170 while SA fell short at 10/149.

Queensland now plays NSW (not the ACT as earlier indicated on the Cricket website).

NSW and Queensland are equal at the top of the championship ladder with both recording two wins, but Queensland is ahead on For & Against.

Former Australian captain Steve Waugh’s son Austin is playing in the NSW side.
